Meet Krista Rothrock: Author, educator, storyteller

Welcome to my world! If someone picks up one of my books, I want them to feel like it was worth their time—and more importantly, that it gave them something they can carry with them.

Because the goal isn’t just to tell a story.

It’s to make it matter.

About me: A journey to meaningful stories

Hi, I’m Krista Rothrock. I’m a children’s author with a simple mission: to create stories that actually matter. Not just stories that entertain—but stories that help kids grow, think, and understand the world around them in a deeper way.

I didn’t take a straight path into writing. My background is built on years of working with people—different personalities, different struggles, different walks of life. I’ve seen how early experiences shape confidence, choices, and identity. And over time, I realized something important: The lessons we learn as kids don’t just stay in childhood… they follow us into adulthood.

Why I write: Shaping young minds

That realization is what led me to start writing for children. Because if we can reach kids early—with the right messages, the right encouragement, and the right tools—we can change the way they see themselves and the world.

There’s a lot of noise out there for kids—fast entertainment, surface-level stories, and distractions. I wanted to do something different. My aim is for readers to feel: “She’s real, she cares, and her books actually mean something.” It's about trust, purpose, and impact.

My writing style: Intentional and impactful

My writing is simple on the surface—but intentional underneath. I don’t believe children need complicated language to understand important ideas. I focus on clear, engaging storytelling that’s easy to follow, while layering in deeper meaning that sticks with them after the story ends.

The themes I come back to most often are: Confidence and identity, doing what’s right, personal growth, and awareness and thinking for themselves. I write stories that open the door for conversations—between kids and parents, teachers, or mentors—because that’s where real impact happens. I don’t write just to entertain—I write with purpose. Meaning over noise and honesty are my guiding values.

"Krista's books are a breath of fresh air. They don't just entertain, they truly inspire conversation and growth in children."
